How To Add Photos To A WordPress Blog Side Bar
By Mark KeelerAre you looking to add photos to your WordPress blog side bar? I found a simple solution for adding photos to your side bar with out using Flickr or any other photo sharing site. I use the default text widget that come with the installation of WordPress. It works great for adding things to your side bar on the fly. You don’t have to know html coding or anything. If you are good at copy and pasting, then this is your non-geek solution.
For those of you who are frustrated at the photo side bar widgets, I found a solution that works great. The standard text widget that comes with WordPress is the solution. Follow the simple step by step instructions below and you can have a nice photo gallery in your widget sections.
- Locate the default Text widget that comes with your WordPress installation. I could not find a down loadable version anywhere on the Internet.
- Drag the Text widget to the side bar where you want your photo.
- Create a new post.
- Upload/Insert photo.
- After photo is uploaded, copy the html coding (control c).
- Open/edit your side bar text widget.
- Paste (control v) html coding into text widget.
- Refresh browser on your blog.
You will have to experiment with the size of your photos as every side bar spacing is different.
